The frequencies of six SNPs showed notable heterogeneity (P < 0.1) between the hyperuricemia and non-hyperuricemia groups (Table 2): rs1294421, rs12970134, rs545854, rs713586, rs7359397, and rs987237, which genotyped within or near the genes lymphocyte antigen 86 (LY86), melanocortin 4 receptor (MC4R), methionine sulfoxide reductase (MSRA), adenylate cyclase 3 (ADCY3), SH2B adaptor protein 1 (SH2B1), and transcription factor AP-2 beta (TFAP2B), respectively. The gene discussed is SH2B1; the disease is hyperuricemia.
