NRP1 and cancer: Further studies conducted in modified prostate (PC3) and breast (MDA-MB-231) cancer cells that expressed either recombinant full length NRP1 or NRP1-Δ7, showed that NRP1-Δ7 has anti-tumorigenic properties, including decreased proliferation, migration and anchorage-dependent growth whilst the overexpression of full length NRP1 had the opposite effect [42].
