Using the publicly available algorithm TargetScan, we found that miR-7-5p that has been reported to act as a tumor-suppressive miRNA in thyroid cancer (42, 43) had 4 miRNA recognition sequences on FOXD2-AS1, suggesting that miR-7-5p was a potential target of FOXD2-AS1 (Figure 6A). The gene discussed is FOXD2; the disease is thyroid gland carcinoma.
