Interestingly, on one hand hypermethylation of certain genes such as GSTP1 is well established to be consistent with the transition of PCa from intraepithelial neoplasia stage to becoming a frank carcinoma [74], and on the other, certain other studies exhibit that DNA methylation and histone modifications generally recapitulate the normal aging process [75].
