These findings are in line with previous prevalence studies in ED which have shown prevalence of hyponatremia to be 2.3–44%, hypernatremia 1.1–4.4%, hypokalemia 10.2–39%, hyperkalemia 0.8–13%, and albumin-corrected hypercalcemia 0.7–7.5% [1, 2, 6, 10–13]. The gene discussed is ALB; the disease is hypercalcemia disease.
