Extensive evidence highlights that real-time continuous glucose monitoring (rtCGM) improves glycemic control and quality of life in both children and adults with type 1 diabetes (T1D) treated with continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion or multiple daily insulin injection therapy.1–3 Improvements include lowering of HbA1c, reduction of time spent in hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia, increased time spent in range and lowering the incidence rate of moderate-to-severe hypoglycemia.4–11 rtCGM use in pregnant women with T1D is associated with improved neonatal outcomes.12 This evidence concerns the gene INS and Hyperglycemia.
