Tumors significantly increased overall CXCL1 and IL-6 at least three-fold (Fig. 4B–E; CXCL1: F2,27 = 17.7, p < 0.0001; IL-6: F2,27 = 9.6, p < 0.001) relative to both tumor-free and tumor-resected mice (post hoc Bonferroni: CXCL1: p < 0.0001 and p < 0.0001 respectively; IL-6: p < 0.005 and p < 0.001 respectively), regardless of time of day. The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is neoplasm.
