EZR and viral infectious disease: Currently ezrin’s biological role has been examined by specific cell biology experiments and its expression and localization have been monitored and reported to be aberrant in a number of cancers (including pediatric osteocarcinoma and rhabdomyosarcoma, and adult breast, lung, colorectal and pancreatic amongst others, in particular to the process of metastasis [30,31,32,33,34,35,36,37,38]) and during viral infection [24,25,39,40,41].
