TRPV1 and migraine disorder: This would support the hypothesis that OnabotA interferes with the response mediated by the TRPV1 receptor [14], encoded by that gene, and as a result impedes the release of neuropeptides implicated in pain, such as CGRP or substance P. The reduction of sensitivity to TRPV1 channels could be of interest to explain the effect of OnabotA as migraine preventative [49].
