In this study, five differentially expressed genes were found as the potential targets of corresponding differentially expressed microRNAs, including downregulated PLXNA4 and upregulated CTIF, PDE5A, VPS53, and PCSK9. As a study using the rat model of bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis showed increased expression of PLXNA4 [47], the downregulation of PLXNA4 induced by EGCG might have beneficial effect in treating pulmonary fibrosis. This evidence concerns the gene CTIF and pulmonary fibrosis.
