In logistic regression analysis, diabetes (OR 1.9, P = 0.008), peripheral vascular disease (OR 0.5, P = 0.007), post-surgical wound infection (OR 0.4, P = 0.005), symptoms shorter than 2 days (OR 3.0, P < 0.001) and CRP over 150 mg/L on the first day (OR 1.8, P = 0.006) were significantly associated with blood culture sampling (Table 1). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and peripheral vascular disease.
