At 8 and 16 h after infection, relative to the uninfected control, SOD1 mRNA levels were decreased to approximately 39.2% (p < 0.05) and 52.3% (p < 0.05), respectively (Figure 3(a)); CAT mRNA levels were decreased to ~15.3% (p < 0.05) and 19.7% (p < 0.05), respectively (Figure 3(e)); GPX4 mRNA levels were decreased to ~34.3% (p < 0.05) and 33.4% (p < 0.05), respectively (Figure 3(g)); and SOD2 mRNA levels were increased to approximately 199.5% (p < 0.05) and 245% (p < 0.05), respectively (Figure 3(c)). This evidence concerns the gene CAT and infection.
