The increased protein levels of TFAM in response to DPI (5 μM) treatment in mock-infected cells suggest that ROS may inhibit TFAM expression (Figures 4(e) and 4(f)), while DPI (5 μM) treatment did not affect the increased expression of TFAM in virus-infected cells (Figures 4(e) and 4(f)), suggesting that ROS were not involved in virus infection-induced TFAM expression. This evidence concerns the gene TFAM and viral infectious disease.
