In order to explore the molecular mechanism of curcumol and curcumin, the main components of the traditional Chinese medicine E-Zhu, in the treatment of COPD, in this experiment, macrophage Raw246.7 cells, were stimulated by CSE (cigarette smoke extract) and the damage model of COPD was simulated in vitro to observe whether curcumol and curcumin could reduce the expressions of inflammatory cytokines and fibrotic factors in macrophages by inhibiting the NF-κB and TGF-β1/Smads signaling pathways. The gene discussed is NFKB1; the disease is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
