ORMDL3 and asthma: We now know that CpG SNPs (i.e., SNPs that exist as part of a CpG site in which methylation changes can occur) in that locus are associated with asthma, and that DNA methylation in the ORMDL3 gene is associated with asthma, but that both SNPs and CpG sites are independently associated with ORMDL3 gene expression (27).
