By fractionated nuclear and cytoplasmic RNA analysis and RNA fluorescence in situ hybridization (RNA-FISH) examination in four cancer cell lines, we found that EGOT is mainly expressed in the nucleus (Fig. 4a and b; Additional file 2: Figure S4c and d), suggesting that EGOT exerts its regulatory function for ITPR1 at the transcriptional level.
