When the frequencies of the affected pathways were compared between adenocarcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas, RAS (rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog) pathway was found to be affected significantly more frequently in adenocarcinomas, while the chromatin remodeling, epigenetic, transcription, and TP53 pathways were affected significantly more frequently in squamous cell carcinomas (Figure S2). The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is adenocarcinoma.
