Eradication of the helminth infections in Group B was followed by significant changes in the immune profile, namely, a decrease in the number of eosinophil (P = 0.002) and IgE blood levels (P = 0.03), an increase in the percentage of CD4+ (P = 0.025) and a decrease in the percentage of CD8+ cells (P = 0.001), resulting in an increased CD4+/CD8+ ratio (P = 0.002), and a decrease in the percentage of activated HLA-DR+CD3+ T-cells (P = 0.001) (Table 3).
