HAVCR1 and chronic kidney disease: This finding interestingly agreed with that of [23] which studied 122 patients for KIM-1 as early biomarker for the diagnosis of AKI following cardiopulmonary bypass surgery and none of them needed renal replacement therapy {RRT} but we think the implementation of new strategies for long-term follow-up of this group of patients may lead to understanding the link between AKI and other risk factors such as proteinuria and end stage renal disease [24] which may lead in the future to a new reclassification of end stage renal disease [25]
