CD177 and dengue disease: In our study, the naphthoquinone NQ 4 has shown important anti-herpetic (EC50: <0.4 μg/mL, <1.28 μM) and anti-dengue (1.6 μg/mL, 5.1 μM) activities on early infection stages, mainly in the initial formation of complexes between the viral glycoprotein and the host cell surface receptors, thereby preventing all events related to fusion, and subsequent viral genome replication, and production of new virions.
