Cottone et al. [53] found that subjects with essential hypertension had higher levels of 8-iso-prostaglandin-F2α (8-iso-PGF2α), CRP, intercellular adhesion molecule–1 (ICAM-1), vascular adhesion molecule–1 (VCAM-1), and tumor necrosis factor–α (TNF-α) than healthy subjects and confirmed the relationship of CRP with systolic BP. Here, CRP is linked to hypertensive disorder.
