These “immune” models have been shown to have similarities pathological changes as occurs in the human IUGR placenta in the trophoblast remodeling protein Formyl peptide receptor-2 [FPR2; (195)], and a dysfunction of decidual arteriolar remodeling (196) such as that associated with pre-eclampsia and IUGR (197).
