However, whereas Tspan8 is functionally linked to cell migration in colorectal cancer and abrogates E‐cadherin function by collaborating with p120‐catenin and α2β1 integrin 14, in breast cancer Tspan8 is likely to act together with E‐cadherin, regulating cell–cell adhesion and proliferation.
