APHINITY was a prospective, randomized, multicenter, multinational, double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase III study that compared intravenous pertuzumab (18 cycles), trastuzumab (18 cycles), and chemotherapy (3–4 cycles of anthracycline-containing chemotherapy followed by 3–4 cycles of taxane-containing chemotherapy or 6 cycles of docetaxel plus carboplatin) with placebo, trastuzumab, and chemotherapy as adjuvant therapy in patients with operable HER2-positive early breast cancer (EBC) [13]. The gene discussed is ERBB2; the disease is breast cancer.
