STAT6 and neoplasm: In this same view, the raises of phospho-STAT6 and JNK in muscles of tumour-bearing rats leads us to the thought that the muscle catabolic process was directly related to the increase of pro-inflammatory cytokines from day 14th of tumour development, as previously shown by Cruz and colleagues [29]; although the leucine-rich diet also contributed to reducing this tumour-induced damage over skeletal muscle decreasing these proteins especially after day 14 of the experiment (Fig. 4).
