Six genes, including phosphoglycerate kinase (PGK1), enolase (ENO2), and four of these HIF‐targeted genes (glucose‐6‐phosphate isomerase (GPI), phosphofructokinase (PFKP), aldolase (ALDOA and ALDOC)) are involved in glycolysis, consistent with the well‐accepted concept of up‐regulation of glycolysis in cancer (Semenza, 2010). The gene discussed is PFKP; the disease is cancer.
