It is very interesting that by adding lymph node metastasis status as a parameter in patient stratification, the prediction of BRCA1/2 mutation status (AUC = 0.917) was much improved than only using serum markers (AUC = 0.881), and BRCA1/2 mutation status together with five serum markers could predict lymph node metastasis status (AUC = 0.843) better than serum markers alone (AUC = 0.735). This evidence concerns the gene BRCA1 and metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
