A total of 22 putative virulence genes were identified, among which sex pheromone (cOB1, cad, and cCF10), Sortase (srtA), endocarditis and biofilm-associated pili genes (ebpB, ebpA, and ebpC), adhesin (efaAfs, and ace), thiol peroxidase (tpx), and E. faecalis virulence factor ElrA genes were commonly detected in ≥97.7% genomes from 44 isolates (Additional file 1: Figure S7). This evidence concerns the gene ACE and endocarditis.
