The TP53 rs1042522 mutant allele in the recessive model was associated with a decreased risk of developing laryngeal cancer (p = 0.002, OR = 0.286 (0.119–0.607)) (see Table 2 and Table S2); and pharyngeal cancer (p = 0.001, OR = 0.124 (0.035–0.476)) (see Table 4 and Table S4). Here, TP53 is linked to pharynx cancer.
