With respect to the latter, PGC-1α has been documented to function in a wide array of processes, including glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid oxidation, glucose-derived lipogenesis, glutamine-derived lipogenesis, and ROS clearance in several types of cancer cells, including melanoma, lung cancer, colon cancer, liver cancer, and breast cancer [39,40,41,42,43]. This evidence concerns the gene PPARGC1A and lung cancer.
