By comparison, only two of these SNPs were associated with plasma YKL-40 levels in the healthy controls, including rs1538372 (P = 5.7 × 10−4) and rs946262 (P = 0.0018), which is consistent with the fact that AIS patients showed higher plasma YKL-40 levels than controls (P = 0.002). Here, CHI3L1 is linked to androgen insensitivity syndrome.
