Heart rate dysregulation manifesting as bradycardia has been noted in several trials of acetylcholinesterase (AchE) inhibitors for Alzheimer’s disease, and this observation has been discussed in pharmacovigilance reports47,48; the gene encoding AchE, ACHE, has been linked to tachycardia by GWAS49,50. This evidence concerns the gene ACHE and Alzheimer disease.
