CCND2 promoter hypermethylation accompanied by the loss of CCND2 expression may suggest an alternative gastric carcinogenesis pathway.40 In colon tumors, cyclin D2 was overexpressed in 53% of the case and cyclin D2 overexpression may be related to a higher TNM stage of the tumor, which reveals a potential metastatic role for CCND2.41 Our results indicated that CCND2 overexpression was an adverse predictor in colorectal cancer and gastric cancer. The gene discussed is CCND2; the disease is gastric cancer.
