Apolipoprotein C‐III is a small surface protein found on many TRLs and is considered to be a key factor in hypertriglyceridaemia because of its inhibitory effect on apolipoprotein catabolism.35 ApoC‐III has been shown to be an important factor in regulating plasma triglyceride concentrations in vitro. The gene discussed is APOC3; the disease is hypertriglyceridemia.
