ICAM1 and myocardial infarction: Interestingly, Youker et al. were able to transfer myocardial infarction-associated inflammation to isolated canine cardiomyocytes by incubating the cells with lymph collected directly from the area of ischemic canine myocardial tissue, thereby stimulating ICAM-1 expression as monitored by neutrophil adhesion, an observation attributed to Il-6 content of the lymph as it was deleted by Il-6-antibody14.
