The aim of our study was to analyze whether some of the common genetic variants near MC4R gene, which have associated with obesity in GWAS, may influence the body fat content, body fat distribution, visceral fat accumulation, as well as dietary intake, physical activity, fasting and postprandial energy expenditure and substrates utilization, after meals with different macronutrient content. Here, MC4R is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
