In the aortic tissue homogenates, diabetes significantly decreased the GSH and SOD levels as compared with the control group (p < 0.001 and p < 0.01, respectively, Figures 2(d) and 2(e)), whereas glycine treatment significantly increased these two antioxidant markers (p < 0.01 and p < 0.05, respectively). Here, SOD1 is linked to diabetes mellitus.
