Factors that are often associated with anemia among people living with HIV/AIDS include ART regimen, presence of opportunistic infections (OIs), residence, gender, marital status, monthly income, educational status, duration of ART taken, history of antituberculosis (TB) drug treatment, advanced stage of the HIV disease, white blood cell (WBC) count < 4,000 cells/μL, CD4+T-lymphocyte count < 200 cells/μL, and platelets count < 200,000 cells/μL [21–23]. Here, CD4 is linked to anemia.
