By connecting gene expression levels with VSE regions and MS risk SNPs, we identified five significant VSE-regulated MS risk genes: DENND6B, USP2, ASAP2, SEMA6B, and LRG1. Among them, DENND6B is highly expressed in the brain (53), and its protein interacts directly with Rab GTPases involved in vesicle trafficking and cytokine production during the process of neuroinflammation (54, 55). Here, DENND6B is linked to myeloid sarcoma.
