ALB and diabetes mellitus: Patients with a lower ADS were younger (mean age 59.0 years for ADS < 0 vs. 61.8 years for 1 ≤ ADS ≤2), had higher prevalence of diabetes (51% of patients with ADS < 0 vs. 42–45% in other ADS groups), lower albumin (3.28 g/dL for ADS < 0 versus 3.42–3.47 in other ADS groups), and lower residual kidney function (24-h urine volume 0.74 L vs. 0.92–1.00 L).
