The importance of understanding the impact of CN inhibitors on susceptibility to fungal infection is clear: pulmonary aspergillosis is a leading cause of mortality in transplant patients.7 Increased risk of severe/invasive aspergillosis in human HSCT recipients has been linked with impaired dectin‐1 signaling23 and genetic deficiency in PTX‐328; in this study we consider these findings in the context of the blood monocyte compartment. The gene discussed is CLEC7A; the disease is fungal infectious disease.
