Recently, Abdul Aziz et al reported that MIF, via interaction with its receptor, increases IL‐8 expression in the tumour microenvironment,47 which recruits non‐receptor tyrosine kinases for phosphorylation of ERK1/2.48 IL‐10 inhibits production of TNF‐α and thus inhibits NF‐κB while activating JAK/STAT3 signalling (Figure 3A‐C) by binding the IL‐10 receptor α and β chain.49 Therefore, it is likely that dysregulation of ZNF143 also promotes formation of the tumourigenic microenvironment in a paracrine manner to modulate the initiation and progression of colon cancer. This evidence concerns the gene MIF and colonic neoplasm.
