In multi-marker analysis of M3 antibody levels, IgG1 levels to MSP142 and IgG1 and IgG3 levels to MSP2 contributed significantly and positively to the components associated with malaria, whereas IgG3 levels to numerous antigens including VAR2CSA DBL1-2, MSP1 bl2 3D7, MSP5 contributed to the components in an inverse relationship, consistent with the malaria protective associations in previous results. The gene discussed is IGHG3; the disease is malaria.
