Previously, two different studies has proposed that major clefting locus might be located at 6p and mutation in several genes such as COL2A1, COL11A1, and COL11A2 caused syndrome that was associated with cleft palate, Robin sequence, and micrognathia (Melkoniemi et al., 2003; Murray, 1995). The gene discussed is COL11A2; the disease is cleft palate.
