We identified cancer‐specific methylated genes which are in the p53 tumor suppressor pathway43, 45 and ablated the p53 pathway in tumor tissues in an epigenetic way together with wild‐type p53. The identified genes were PGP9.5, NMDAR2B, and CCNA1 which were exclusively methylated in primary tumors with no p53 mutation. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and neoplasm.
