In the setting of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis, this group demonstrated that murine BM-MSC-EVs could express MSC-derived tolerogenic molecules, specifically PD-L1, galectin-1, and TGF-β1 and inhibit autoreactive lymphocyte proliferation, inducing secretion of the anti-inflammatory cytokines IL-10 and TGF-β. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis.
