A study in 2008 concluded that SRY (sex determining region Y)-box 2 (SOX2) was important in the upregulation of MUC5AC in mucinous colorectal adenocarcinoma [38] while Raghoebir et al. [39] showed that the aberrant expression of SOX2 did not correlate with mucinous colorectal adenocarcinoma histology or MUC5AC expression. This evidence concerns the gene SRY and colorectal mucinous adenocarcinoma.
