As an example, the Toll-like Receptor TLR2/TLR6 heterocomplex has been found to be responsible for innate immune activation by recognizing the GP of the NW JUNV upon virus infection for robust induction of the innate (292) and adaptive (293) immune responses (Figure 6), while only TLR2 has been implicated in the anti-viral activity of OW arenaviruses (294, 295). Here, TLR2 is linked to viral infectious disease.
