The ligand Jagged1 was shown to be upregulated in OSCC cell lines and tissue samples; interestingly the downregulation of Jagged1 in the OSCC resulted in a decrease of cell proliferation in vitro as well as tumor growth in vivo, identifying Jagged 1 and Jagged2 ligands as potential therapeutic targets [41,67].
