In support, the potent vasoconstrictor ET‐1 was previously suggested to play an important role in the pathogenesis of SSc vasculopathy (Silveri et al. 2001; Avouac et al. 2013; Mostmans et al. 2017). Although we did observe higher concentration of ET‐1 in SSc patients, this marker remained stably elevated throughout the experiment. This finding is in accordance with a previous study conducted by Smyth and colleagues (2000) who did not find clear differences during a cooling experiment. Here, EDN1 is linked to systemic sclerosis.
