SOX2 and pituitary tumor: We previously reported strong nuclear localisation of YAP and TAZ exclusively in SOX2+ stem cells of developing Rathke's pouch and the postnatal anterior pituitary of mice and humans, and enhanced expression in human pituitary tumours composed of uncommitted cells, including ACPs and null-cell adenomas (Lodge et al., 2016; Xekouki et al., 2019), which do not express any of the lineage transcription factors PIT1, TPIT or SF1.
